Dominica, of volcanic origin, consists mostly of pyroclastic
flows and lavas from at least seven volcanic centers. It is
famous for its tropical rain forest, which boasts many remarkable
rivers and scenic waterfalls. Discover the sizzle of Boiling
Lake and other hot springs, fumaroles, and bubbling pots around
the island, including the underwater site "Champagne," named
for the sparkling bubbles that rise from it. The Emerald Pool
in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park is incredible, the site
of several crater lakes and waterfalls. Dominica is also known
for its excellent dive sites and prime whale-watching.
